Statement of Purpose
The purpose of the Buena Vista Neighborhood Association is:
To preserve the unique historical village of Buena Vista and its lands and boundaries as described in the BVNA charter
To enhance the quality of life and health by improving, maintaining and preserving the natural environment and employing Xeriscape landscaping
To protect the integrity of the community by advocating with government agencies to prevent further major infrastructure intrusion into the village, or, if intrusion is unavoidable, to work in partnership with government agencies to minimize impact to residents, and assure that any and all major infrastructure projects benefit Buena Vista directly.
To work with government agencies to maintain protective systems such as drainage infrastructure and flood control (pumps, etc), and to assure that amenities provided by the city (streets, sidewalks, street lights, traffic control devices, parks, etc) be on par with other neighborhoods in the city of El Paso
To expand efforts to make Buena Vista a public art and cultural destination
To find environmentally sustainable solutions to its problems, needs and aesthetics wherever possible
To keep Buena Vista safe, healthful and beautiful for this and future generations
